Together in Safety has been invited once again to the prestigious Tristar Safety at Sea Conference in Dubai on 10th November. Dr Grahaeme Henderson OBE will open the event alongside event organisers Eugene Mayne, founder and CEO of Tristar Group, and Tim Coffin, CEO of Tristar.
This global conference is dedicated to improving safety in shipping and brings together industry leaders including ship owners and managers, government authorities, industry regulators, marine insurers, healthcare professionals and other experts. Live-streamed to ships in transit and crewing locations around the world, all attendees have the common goal of preventing fatalities and serious injuries, environmental impact and high-cost major asset damage.
The theme of this year’s conference is “Get Safety Right, Get Everything Right”, reflecting the universal impact of making safety the number one priority for every company from the Owner/CEO through every level to the seafarer on the ship.
This is because safety is about people – who are the lifeblood of every company – and a great safety performance leads to a great business performance.
This year’s agenda will focus on the three strategic drivers of Leadership, Incident Prevention, and Wellbeing & Care.
Attendees will hear from Dr Waddah Ghanem of ENOC, who will explore the evolution of safety leadership and its growing importance in shaping organisational culture, while Incident Prevention will be led by Together in Safety founding member and V.Group Chairman, Graham Westgarth, who will share insights into the wide-reaching consequences of major incidents — not just for companies, but for the individuals and families affected.
There will also be a unique, interactive workshop-style session focusing on Wellbeing and Care, with Anna Myrilla from Learning Seaman and Stella Kiss from Mental Health Support Solutions addressing the critical issues impacting seafarers’ mental health and emotional resilience. The session will highlight a range of practical strategies and support systems that can make a real difference on board and ashore.
The conference has become a highlight in the maritime calendar, and it is fantastic to see such a strong collective commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration when it comes to safety. Events like this are vital in driving change and ensuring that safety remains at the heart of all operations.
We’re proud to be part of this important event, and look forward to connecting with colleagues and partners in developing a deeper understanding of the vital area of safety.
